Latest company case about Egyptian Quarry Operator Increases Production by 35% with Wear-Resistant Rock Teeth

Background:

A limestone quarry near Cairo, Egypt, operates a fleet of SANY SY485 and Komatsu PC400 excavators. They produce crushed stone for the booming construction market.

Challenge:

The limestone in this region contains high levels of silica, making it highly abrasive. Standard bucket teeth would wear down within 180-200 operating hours, leading to frequent weld-on rebuilds and lost production time.

Solution:

We supplied our Quarry/Mining Series Teeth, featuring a thicker wear cap and a specially formulated alloy optimized for abrasive limestone.

Result:

Tooth life was extended to over 350 hours. The improved penetration also reduced fuel consumption per ton of material moved. The quarry manager reported a 35% increase in daily output and has since standardized our teeth across their entire 12-machine fleet.
