South Africa Platinum Mine

The stator and rotor in the rougher flotation cells of a platinum mine in South Africa had a wear life of only 8 months. We provided the customer with a specially heat-treated stator-rotor set, increasing the rotor blade hardness by 25%. Under the same throughput and slurry density, the new rotor's service life was extended to 15 months. The stator's wear-resistant rubber lining effectively protected the metal frame and prevented slurry leakage. The mine's annual expenditure on flotation spare parts was reduced by 40%.
