A Vietnamese contractor is involved in dredging and widening irrigation canals in the Mekong Delta region, using long-reach excavators.
Underwater excavation presents two problems: high abrasion from sand and silt, and corrosion from constant water exposure. Standard teeth were rusting and wearing out simultaneously.
While our standard teeth have good base material properties, we ensured this shipment received a slightly modified surface treatment optimized for abrasive wet conditions.
The teeth showed excellent resistance to both sand abrasion and water corrosion. The client reported that a single set of teeth lasted for the entire duration of a 2-month canal dredging phase, a significant improvement over their previous supplier.
