Optimizing Flotation Performance in Molybdenum Mines

Through long-term monitoring, a molybdenum mine flotation workshop found that the wear of rotor and stator would significantly affect the flotation performance: after the rotor is worn, the power consumption decreases, the slurry pumping capacity weakens, and the gas dispersion is uneven; after the stator is worn, the ability to resist slurry flow decreases, the turbulence intensity decreases, and the chance of collision between bubbles and mineral particles decreases.

When the wear amount of the rotor and stator reaches 15%, the molybdenum ore recovery rate decreases by 6.2 percentage points, and the concentrate grade decreases by 3.5 percentage points.

Based on this, a maintenance plan was formulated: check the rotor and stator every 2 months, replace them in time when the wear amount exceeds 10%, and regularly clean the slurry deposits on the surface of the rotor and stator to ensure that the equipment is in good operating condition.

After the implementation of the plan, the flotation performance is stable, and the equipment failure rate is reduced by 40%.
