Brazilian Copper Mine Upgrades Nemisys® Bucket Tooth System to Cut Downtime and Lift Productivity

A large open-pit copper mine in Brazil has completed the overall upgrade of its core mining excavator bucket tooth system, replacing traditional accessories with ESCO® Nemisys® integrated mining tooth system matched with N5 intermediate bridge adapters. The new bucket tooth system features optimized geometric structure and anti-wear material formula, adapting to the high-hardness ore digging and harsh abrasive working conditions of copper mines. The upgraded system effectively reduces the wear rate of tooth tips and adapters, cuts frequent replacement and maintenance downtime, and realizes continuous and stable operation of excavators. Field data shows that the mine’s single-shift mining efficiency increased by 12%, and the annual equipment maintenance downtime caused by bucket tooth failure decreased by more than 20%.
