Flotation Machine Operation Optimization Case Study
Problem

A coal preparation plant flotation machine had severe vibration and excessive noise during operation, and the flotation efficiency continued to decline.

Cause

After inspection, it was found that the stator was misaligned, and the impeller was not concentric with the stator, causing the rotor to collide locally with the stator when rotating, the slurry flow field was disordered, and the bearing wear was aggravated.

Treatment Measures

Treatment measures: after shutdown, readjust the stator installation position, correct the concentricity of the impeller and the stator (tolerance controlled within ±6mm), fasten the stator fixing bolts, replace the worn bearings and add lubricating grease.

Result

After treatment, the vibration and noise of the flotation machine were reduced to the standard range, the flow field returned to stable, the flotation efficiency increased by 4.8 percentage points, and the equipment operation life was extended.
