Indonesian Nickel Miner Switches to Heavy-Duty Teeth to Combat Extreme Impact

A mining contractor in Sulawesi, Indonesia, uses Volvo EC480 and Komatsu PC400 excavators for overburden removal and nickel ore mining, where the ground contains extremely hard rocks and boulders.

Due to the severe impact, the teeth previously used often suffered from shank breakage and pin wear. This created safety hazards and drastically reduced digging efficiency.

We provided our Heavy Duty Teeth Series, featuring a reinforced shank design, optimized tip angle, and high-strength pins.

Impact resistance improved by over 50%, and breakage was completely eliminated. The customer reported significantly improved digging force and efficiency. They have since signed an annual framework agreement with us.
